We have more earthquakes than most places, I know that. But we have tiny pussy earthquakes that you mainly can't feel. The worst one in the last 20 years barely shook the room.
The UK has more tornados per unit land mass than USA

I think the tornadoes per unit land mass in the UK is higher because it's so much smaller. Not entirely sure though, I just woke up :(

In this case though I understand that the tornado warnings came only briefly before the actual tornado arrived. Most people didn't have a chance to do anything and not all the schools had shelters. The whole experience must have been extremely frightening for the people involved, especially the children.
Mm have to agree somewhat with Sera.. if you live in a tornado area, get warning it's coming and don't do anything to get out of the way.. unless you're unable or too young to be able to do so, your loss of life isn't something I'm overly concerned with. Sucks for the kids, having stupid parents though.
at no point are they killed, therefore is not all that bad.

Also, if you live in an area that has been known as Tornado Alley since day and age I wouldn't buy or build a house that is made out of cartboard. Have they never heard the story of the three little pigs and the wolf?
All human suffering and kidding aside, a few of these tornado's could actually be pretty good for the American economy.
